Lucknow, April 23 -- Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday directed strict enforcement of transparency and security protocols for the upcoming Home Guard recruitment examination, while reviewing law and order, smart meter issues and essential supplies in a high-level video conference with senior officials. The examination, scheduled from April 25 to 27 across 74 districts for 41,424 posts, will be held in two shifts. Stressing the sanctity of the process, the chief minister ordered stringent action against any attempt to compromise fairness, including cheating or spreading misinformation, with continuous monitoring of social media platforms. Amid the ongoing heatwave, he instructed authorities to ensure adequate drinking water, medical assistance and seamless traffic management at all centres, with clear directions to avoid candidates being exposed to harsh weather conditions. Reviewing fuel supply, he said availability remains normal and cautioned against panic buying or hoarding. On smart meters, he said an expert committee report is awaited and directed distribution utilities to organise feeder-level camps across districts for on-the-spot redressal of consumer grievances. Flagging inputs about attempts to trigger caste tensions, the chief minister called for proactive preventive measures. He also warned of possible industrial unrest between April 30 and May 2, directing heightened vigilance during the period.
