Meerut, Dec. 15 -- Even as Maulana Tauqeer Raza Khan remains in jail in connection with the September 26 Bareilly violence case, a fresh criminal case has been registered against him, his close relatives and associates, including his brother-in-law, on serious charges of land grabbing, criminal intimidation and molestation. According to police, a woman from the Muslim community, a resident of a village under the Izzatnagar police station area, filed a complaint on Saturday against Maulana Tauqeer's brother-in-law Mohsin Raza and nine others. The complainant has also accused Maulana Tauqeer Raza of providing protection to the accused. In her complaint, the woman stated that her elderly father has been chronically ill, a situation that was allegedly exploited by the accused to forcibly grab the family's land. She alleged that Maulana Tauqeer Raza, his brother-in-law Mohsin Raza, along with her five uncles, conspired to seize her father's property and repeatedly threatened the family. The accused are also alleged to have issued threats to kill them if they resisted. The complainant further alleged that on December 5, Mohsin Raza, Raza Khan, Ikram Beg and a man identified as Vicky forcibly entered their house and threatened to kill her father. She also accused the men of molesting her mother during the incident. Distressed by the prolonged harassment and intimidation, the woman alleged that her father attempted to end his life by consuming a poisonous substance on December 11. She claimed that her family has been subjected to continuous harassment for the past seven years, but no effective action was taken earlier due to the accused being relatives of Maulana Tauqeer Raza and allegedly enjoying his patronage. Confirming the development, Izzatnagar station house officer Vijendra Singh said that an FIR has been registered in the matter. He added that Maulana Tauqeer Raza is currently lodged in jail, and efforts are underway to arrest his brother-in-law Mohsin Raza and the other accused named in the case....
