Fourth victim in Behta blast dies
LUCKNOW, Sept. 6 -- The toll in the explosion at an illegal fireworks factory in Behta near here rose to four with another man succumbing to his injuries on Friday, police said.
Nadeem had been undergoing treatment at the King George's Medical University, ACP Anindya Vikram Singh said. More details of the fourth victim were still awaited when this report was filed.
Meanwhile, police have arrested one Tinu alias Ali Ahmed, 48, in connection with the incident. He was caught by Gudamba SHO Prabhatesh Kumar Srivastava from the Behta market, said a note on Friday. BNS sections 105/110/3(5) and Section 3/4/5 of the Explosives Act are invoked in the FIR registered in the case.
Three explosions have taken place in Behta under the Gudamba police station limits since August 28. The first one, which took place in a house, killed four people. A couple, Alam and his wife Munni, were killed on the spot. Their son Irshad, 20, was pulled out alive but died later. Hours after, another blast rocked a nearby warehouse, injuring a woman. A day after, a third explosion occurred during the police's controlled disposal of explosives, damaging a nearby water tank. htc...
