Pithoragarh, Aug. 11 -- The fourth batch of 48 pilgrims undertaking the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra crossed over to Tibet from the Lipulekh pass at 8.45 am on Sunday, officials from Kumaon Mandal Vikas Nigam (KMVN) base camp in Dharchula said. While the fourth batch entered Tibet, the fifth batch of 50 pilgrims reached the Gunji camp late in the evening after delays in reaching the Dharchula base camp, said Dhan Singh Bisht, in charge of the KMVN base camp at Dharchula. "The fifth batch had to stay at Pithoragarh instead of Dharchula on Saturday after being delayed by nine hours due to a road blockade at Chalthi, caused by heavy debris on the Swala stretch of the Tanakpur-Dharchula road," he said. This year, 250 pilgrims in five batches have been permitted to undertake the pilgrimage via the Lipulekh pass route. "Three batches completed their pilgrimage in July," he added.htc...
