PRAYAGRAJ, Nov. 11 -- Two youths from the Hathigawan area of Pratapgarh, accused in a theft case in Delhi, in June, were arrested by Delhi Police and Kunda Police, in a raid, on Monday. Based on their information, the police apprehended two more youths who had purchased the stolen goods. After conducting medical check-ups at the community health centre, all four accused were taken to Delhi. In June 2025, a theft took place at the residence of one Sakshi Gupta, resident of Mayur Vihar, in Delhi. Jewellery worth several lakhs besides Rs 60,000 was stolen from the house. Based on the victim's complaint, the Mayur Vihar police registered a case and began investigation during which the two accused were identified as residents of Hathigawan area in Pratapgarh. On Monday, sub-inspector Mayank and constable Sudip from the Mayur Vihar police station arrived in Pratapgarh and searched for the two accused who had been absconding since the incident. The accused, Raja alias Ilyash, resident of Baba Ka Purwa, and Suraj Singh alias Chhotu, resident of Pure Jeet, Hathigawan, were arrested. Based on their information, Sumit Kaushal, resident of Maa Vaishno Colony, and Suraj, resident of Jenwai Padri, Kaushambi, who had purchased the stolen goods, were arrested. They were all brought to the CHC for medical examination.
