Meerut, July 19 -- A 13-year-old girl was allegedly kidnapped from her village home and gangraped by four youths in Zarifnagar police station area in Badaun district. The incident, which occurred nine days ago, came to light when the victim was found in the Sahaswan area on July 13. The police on Thursday registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, charging the accused with holding the girl hostage and gang-raping her. One suspect was detained on Friday, while efforts are underway to apprehend the remaining three, police said. According to the victim's father, a resident of a village under the Zarifnagar police station, the ordeal began on the morning of July 9 at around 5 am. When he woke up, he discovered his daughter missing and the house door ajar. Stepping outside, he witnessed two youths fleeing with his unconscious daughter on a motorcycle. Despite raising an alarm, the father could not catch them. He identified the two youths, residents of Malpur Tatera village, during the pursuit. After failing to locate them at their homes, he continued his search for his daughter. On July 13, the father received information that his daughter was at Akbarabad crossroad in the Sehswan area. Accompanied by his sister, he rushed to the location and found the girl. The victim narrated her harrowing experience to her family, prompting them to approach the police.
