JHANSI, June 28 -- A local court on Friday sentenced four men to life imprisonment for the murder of a 35-year-old man in the Sakrar area of Jhansi district in 2023. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh on each. According to additional district government counsel Tej Singh Gaur, the incident took place on April 23, 2023, when the victim, Karan (35), was working in his farm. He was attacked with an axe, machete, and sticks by Siyaram Kushwaha (72), his brother Rajaram Kushwaha (55), and their sons Deshraj (32) and Manvendra (24). Karan died on the spot due to the severity of the injuries. The murder motive was a family dispute. The couple returned to their village two months before the murder, and Karan's first wife had accepted the relationship, Gaur said. However, the four accused felt humiliated by the situation and sought revenge, which culminated in the murder. They were booked under sections 302/34, 504, and 506 of the IPC and were sent to judicial custody, but they later secured bail, Gaur added. During the trial, the prosecution proved all four men guilty. On Friday, they were sentenced to life imprisonment by judge Sunil Kumar Yadav of ADJ Court-I....
