Four killed in Agra highway accident
Agra, Oct. 6 -- Four people, including a woman, were killed in a road accident when a high-speed canter rammed into a truck ahead in Runakata area on the Agra-Delhi highway. Those killed were seated in the canter's driver cabin, which was badly crushed in the collision.
Assistant commissioner of police Akshay Mahadik confirmed the four deaths in the accident, which occurred after midnight on Saturday on National Highway 19, connecting Kanpur with Delhi.
Both vehicles were heading towards Mathura from Agra.
The deceased included canter driver Vijendra (45) and a woman, Reema (35).
A youth, Upendra, was injured and later taken for treatment by his family.
He was returning to Gurugram after appearing for an exam in Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh.
The accident caused a traffic jam on the highway, which was cleared after police intervention.
Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath expressed grief over the tragedy and conveyed condolences to the bereaved families....
