PRAYAGRAJ, June 10 -- An international four-day workshop titled "Advancing Qualitative and Transdisciplinary Research: Knowledge Systems, Methods, and Societal Impact" commenced on Monday at the Govind Ballabh Pant Social Science Institute (GBPSSI), Prayagraj. Jointly organised by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), New Delhi, GBPSSI, Jhusi, and the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF), Switzerland, the workshop is aimed at early-career scholars, ICSSR fellows, faculty members, and social science researchers from across India.The initiative seeks to provide participants with conceptual clarity and practical exposure to qualitative and transdisciplinary research methodologies. It places a strong emphasis on culturally grounded, ethically reflexive, and socially responsive approaches to research. In his welcome address, professor Badri Narayan, director of GBPSSI, highlighted the importance of context-specific qualitative methods in shaping inclusive and sustainable policy discussions.
