LUCKNOW, May 30 -- Remembering former Prime Minister and farmer leader Chaudhary Charan Singh on his death anniversary, Samajwadi Party general secretary Shivpal Singh Yadav on Thursday said that Singh's ideas continue to hold deep relevance in present times. Speaking at a seminar held in Lucknow, Shivpal Yadav also launched the book "Charan Singh - Vyaktitv, Vichar aur Virasat", edited by socialist thinker Deepak Mishra. "Charan Singh was not just a politician, he was also an economist, author, noted lawyer, and an efficient administrator," said Shivpal, recalling Singh's contributions to the development of both Uttar Pradesh and the nation. He further added, "The BJP may invoke Charan Singh's name, but their economic policies are in stark contrast to his ideology.
