Haridwar, Aug. 4 -- After weeks of fear amid repeated leopard attacks in Pauri Garhwal district, a five-year-old leopard was successfully trapped in an iron cage by the forest department on late Saturday evening, officials aware of the matter said on Sunday. According to officials, the leopard had terrorised the locality over the past three weeks, injuring at least three people near the Ganga Darshan Bend on the Pauri-Srinagar road. The wild cat had attacked two people on July 10 and 11, followed by another assault last Tuesday when a 22-year-old cow shelter worker was seriously injured. "We have successfully trapped a male leopard, around five years of age, in a cage that was set up based on frequent sightings and patterns of attack. The leopard was caught near the cow shelter where the last attack took place," said Swapnil Anirudh, divisional forest officer (DFO), Pauri," he said....
