LUCKNOW, Dec. 1 -- The 10th edition of 3-day Kabir Mahotsav blending music, theatre, art, and Sufi philosophy concluded at the Sangeet Natak Akademi on Sunday. Following a 12-day theatre festival and a Sufi-inspired spiritual journey, the festival's finale captivated audiences with lanterns, folk tunes, and soulful Kabir songs. The third day opened with Kuljeet from the youth podcast, 'The Buzz Box', setting the tone for workshops, interactive sessions, and live performa-nces. The highlights included yoga with Anuja, modern Madhubani painting with Aditi Arora, pottery workshops led by Sarita Jaiswal, and mask-making sessions by Samita and Sugriv. Puppet workshops, musical instrument sessions, and environmental street plays had participants of all ages engaged. Artistes from Pune, including Armaan and Mahinder Pal Singh, led a vibrant Kabir and Sufi jam, while Mallika Parmar delivered a Yog Kabir performance. Visual storytelling and live painting by Shivalik, poetry recitations by Poonam Thakur, literary discussions by Rajeev Trivedi, and film workshops curated by Upasana Tripathi and Avinash added to the artistic depth. The festival also featured film screenings and discussions, courtroom drama sessions with senior advocate IB Singh, and book launches, including works on Khajuraho, the Gomti river, women in the independence movement, and social commentary. The finale showcased Mahesh Dattani's award-winning play titled 'Dance Like a Man', directed by Lalit Dube.
