Lucknow, Oct. 23 -- Urban development and energy minister AK Sharma directed officials of the energy department to ensure that power supply is not disrupted in any area during the Chhath festival. He said that priority should be given to temporary lighting, the functioning of high-mast lights, and electrical safety measures around the ghats and places of worship. Sharma held a review meeting with senior officials of the urban development and energy department at his camp office regarding preparations for the upcoming Chhath festival. During the meeting, Sharma instructed all superintending engineers and executive engineers to maintain a 24-hour control room during Chhath and ensure immediate action on any complaints. Sharma also said that all feeders and transformers should be inspected in advance to prevent any technical malfunctions. He directed that cleanliness, fogging, spraying of disinfectants, levelling of ghats, and 24x7 uninterrupted power supply be ensured on ghats.
