Five trapped on island rescued
Jhansi, June 24 -- Five persons who got trapped after the sudden rise in the water level of River Betwa were rescued on Monday morning by a police team with the help of locals.
The incident was reported from Sojna Ghat in the Moth area of the district. All five, in their 20s were labourers engaged in sand mining.
They used to stay on the island itself as the water level of the river was quite low. On Monday morning they awoke to find that the water level had drastically risen because of the continuous rain.
All the five persons were brought back to safety with the help of a speed boat....
