GORAKHPUR/Bahraich/Prayagraj, Feb. 21 -- Two Class 12 students lost their lives in separate road accidents on Friday morning in Deoria and Sant Kabir Nagar districts while on their way to appear for the Intermediate (UP Board) examination scheduled later in the day, police officials said. Also, two High School students died in Bahraich district, while on their way to take their exams, on Friday morning, when a roadways bus rammed into their motorcycle near Jhinga Ghat. Another student riding with them sustained injuries. The bus driver fled the spot after abandoning the vehicle. In Gauri Bazar town of Deoria district, a Class 12 student was killed after being hit by a Scorpio vehicle. The victim, identified as Aman Nishad, 20, was on his way to the examination centre when the vehicle rammed into his bicycle with great force. He died on the spot due to severe head injuries. "A case has been registered, and CCTV footage from nearby areas is being examined to identify the vehicle involved in the accident," the station house officer (SHO) of Gauri Bazar police station said. In a separate incident in Sant Kabir Nagar district, two brothers met with an accident while travelling to an examination centre in Khalilabad town. Jitendra Yadav, 25, was taking his younger brother, Rajan Yadav, to the exam centre when their motorcycle was hit by an unidentified vehicle. Jitendra died in the accident, while Rajan sustained serious injuries. He was initially taken to the district hospital and later referred to a medical college due to his critical condition. The two High School students who died have been identified as Mastram, 17, and his cousin Rohit, both residents of Rajapur Mafi village under the Ramgaon Police Station area. The injured student, Jaihind, has been admitted to the district hospital for treatment. According to family members, Mastram, Rohit, and Jaihind had left their village around 7 am on a motorcycle to appear for their high school examination at the City Montessori School in Bahraich city. Station in-charge Gurusen Singh confirmed that two students died at the scene. He said efforts were underway to trace and arrest the absconding driver. In Prayagraj, one high school student died and two others were injured in a road accident near Garhwa Fort under the Shankargarh police station area of Prayagraj on Friday morning. According to reports, three students from Lalapur were going on a motorcycle to appear for their High School examinations when their bike collided with an unidentified vehicle near Garhwa Fort. All three sustained severe injuries and were rushed to the Shankargarh Community Health Centre where doctors declared 16-year-old Shivkumar dead.
