PRAYAGRAJ, Aug. 7 -- Five new judges of the Allahabad high court will take oath in the chief justice's courtroom on Thursday. The newly appointed judges are Pramod Kumar Srivastava-II, Abdul Shahid, Santosh Rai, Tej Pratap Tiwari and Zafeer Ahmad. They all belong to the higher judicial services (HJS). The Union ministry of law and justice issued a notification on August 4 in this connection. It said that in exercise of the power assigned by the Constitution, the President has appointed five judges for the Allahabad HC. At present, there are 78 judges working in the Allahabad HC and its Lucknow bench against the sanctioned strength of 160 judges. With five more appointments, the number of judges will reach 83....
