Fire breaks out in slum area near Sangam
PRAYAGRAJ, June 9 -- A fire broke out in a slum near the RAF camp in the Sangam area late Saturday night, triggering panic among residents. The cause of the blaze remains unknown.
As the flames spread rapidly, slum dwellers rushed to safety. Due to the fire, the hut of a family of six were gutted, while several nearby dwellings were partially damaged. On receiving information, fire tenders arrived promptly and managed to bring the fire under control after more than an hour of continuous effort.
Chief fire officer (CFO) Dr RK Pandey said that the fire erupted in the slum near the RAF camp office, but fortunately, no casualties were reported....
