Fire breaks out at Excise dept hall near old HC
LUCKNOW, May 27 -- A fire broke out on Monday evening in the meeting hall located on the first floor of the Excise Department building near the Old High Court in Lucknow.
According to Hazratganj Fire Station Officer (FSO) Ram Kumar Rawat, the control room at Hazratganj Fire Station received an emergency call reporting the fire.
Under instructions from the Chief Fire Officer, FSO Rawat immediately rushed to the scene with two fire tenders and his team. On the way, the Aminabad Fire Station Unit was also directed to the location.
"Upon arrival, officials observed that the fire had engulfed the meeting hall of the Excise Office. The team swiftly began firefighting efforts using water from the fire tenders. Due to the presence of dense and toxic smoke inside the premises, two firemen entered the building wearing Breathing Apparatus (BA) sets to tackle the flames from inside," said the FSO.
"Simultaneously, a ladder was used to access and ventilate the upper section of the building, allowing smoke to escape and providing an additional route for firefighting," he added.
"The fire was eventually surrounded and brought under complete control. A smoke exhaust system was deployed to remove remaining fumes. Thankfully, no casualties or injuries were reported," said the Fire department in a statement....
