FIR against YouTuber for 'defaming' woman yoga instructor
LUCKNOW, May 4 -- A Lucknow-based man has filed an FIR at the Ashiyana police station against a YouTube content creator, accusing him of defaming and outraging the modesty of a woman yoga teacher formerly associated with his institute. A case has been registered and the investigation is ongoing, police said.
As per reports, Shivansh Narayan Dwivedi, who runs a spiritual and social organisation named Aahwan Dharma Raksharth, submitted the complaint on May 1 on behalf of the woman, who currently lives in Rishikesh and previously worked with Dwivedi's institute as a yoga instructor.
The complainant alleged that the accused, Swami Nigrah Acharya (Si Bhagwatanand Guru), made derogatory remarks and allegations against the woman through videos uploaded on April 24 and 25. Dwivedi claimed that the accused used vulgar and objectionable language in his videos, linking the yoga teacher with foreign organisations, accusing her of immoral behaviour, and making personal remarks involving body-shaming and fabricated claims, police said.
The complaint further alleged that the YouTuber also dragged his name into the controversy, thereby tarnishing the image of his institution.
After the videos went viral, several social media users allegedly posted indecent comments targeting the woman.
Dwivedi said that upon learning about one of the videos on April 24, he informed the woman, who requested him to initiate legal action against the accused. He claimed that the social media "defamation" led to the cancellation of the woman's engagement and severely affected her mental health. The complainant requested the police to block the YouTube channel and take action against the accused.
As per reports, the accused is based in Darid village, Uttsara post, Pitarwar, Bokaro district of Jharkhand....
