Lucknow, Nov. 11 -- An FIR (first information report) was lodged on Monday against a supervisor and contractor in connection with the electrocution of a 21-year-old technician in Lucknow's Mohanlalganj. The incident took place around 10:30 am on November 4 in the Jaithikheda village area when the technician, identified as Arun Kumar alias Arun Verma,came in contact with an 11,000-volt high-tension line while installing a streetlight pole. Inspector D.K. Singh said an FIR has been registered against the supervisor and the contractor under relevant sections of the BNS, and a detailed investigation is underway. Arun was employed by a contractor firm, which handles streetlight and pole installation work. As per the FIR, supervisor Fariduddin instructed Arun to place an aluminium ladder on the pole and assured him that the nearby 11,000-volt power line had been shut down.
