FIR against 7 for fraudulent transactions, accounts' misuse
PRAYAGRAJ, Nov. 26 -- A case of misuse of villagers' bank accounts has come to light in Gidhoura village, under the Kaudhiara police station of Prayagraj, revealing a network allegedly involved in suspicious transactions of crores of rupees over the years. The Kaundhiara police have registered an FIR against seven accused, including an employee of India Post Payments Bank.
The gang, active for several years in Gidhoura, reportedly lured villagers into opening bank accounts at the India Post Payments Bank branch in Karachhana. The accused then allegedly took control of the passbooks, ATM cards, and mobile SIMs linked to these accounts, using them to conduct transactions, international hawala operations, and large-scale fund transfers, police said.
