PRAYAGRAJ, Oct. 19 -- In view of heavy traffic movement on city roads due to the festivals of Dhanteras and Diwali, the district police have implemented a foolproof security plan, utilizing real-time monitoring through live feeds from 1,100 surveillance cameras connected to the Integrated Control and Command Center (ICCC). Additional commissioner of police(Law and Order) Ajay Pal Sharma reviewed the traffic situation at the ICCC and issued directives to police teams to remain alert throughout the festive season on Saturday. Live monitoring of security and traffic arrangements commenced in Prayagraj on Dhanteras. From Saturday morning onwards, senior police officials began monitoring the situation at the ICCC located in Police Lines. In anticipation of large crowds of shoppers on city roads and in busy market areas on Saturday, a 16-hour continuous monitoring plan was developed and executed from the Command Center. Major markets such as Chowk, Katra, Civil Lines and Dhoomanganj were continuously monitored by cameras as well as drones.
