Lucknow, Aug. 31 -- Girls continued to dominate the tentative medal list at Lucknow University (LU), with over 80% of the medals set to be awarded to female students during the upcoming convocation ceremony on September 10. The university released the tentative list on Saturday. A total of 105 students will receive 199 medals at the ceremony, with 79 female and 26 male students among the awardees. The controller of examinations has also issued a notice inviting objections regarding the medal list, which can be submitted until September 3. No objections will be entertained after the deadline. According to the list, Shraddha Yadav (MA ancient Indian history) has secured the highest number of medals with nine, followed by Chitra Sahu (geography) with eight and Ravi Chand (LLB) with seven. The names of the recipients of the university's three most prestigious medals - the Chancellor's Gold Medal, vice chancellor's Gold Medal, and the Dr Chakravarti Gold Medal for service-have not yet been announced. These will be declared after the relevant university committee finalises the selection. This year, a total of 1,10,810 undergraduate degrees, 15,200 postgraduate degrees, 242 diplomas, and 2 certificates will be awarded, said LU spokesperson Durgesh Srivastava.
