LUCKNOW, May 5 -- On a two-day tour (May 4-5) to Kanpur, Food Corporation of India (FCI) chairman and managing director Ashutosh Agnihotri reviewed key storage and procurement operations, including the FCI's Chandari depot and a modern under construction wheat silo. The Chandari depot, with a storage capacity of 1.09 lakh metric tonnes, is the largest FCI depot in North India. He also assessed the progress of the adjacent steel silo being constructed by Adani Agri Logistics Limited. Once completed, the silo will add another 1.25 lakh metric tonnes of storage capacity. "The silo is expected to be ready by September 2025.
