VARANASI, Dec. 4 -- Cough syrup nexus accused Bhola Prasad Jaiswal, father of the alleged kingpin Shubham Jaiswal, was brought to Sonbhadra on Tuesday night on transit remand from Kolkata , superintendent of police, Sonbhadra, Abhishek Verma said. Bhola Prasad was arrested from Kolkata airport on November 30 by a joint team of the Sonbhadra police and the Special Investigation Team. He was presented before the media by the police in Robertsganj, Sonbhadra, on Wednesday. Jaiswal was illegally distributing cough syrup on a large scale in various districts by fake billing through a Ranchi-based firm, the SP said. The SP said during interrogation, accused Bhola Prasad stated that the firm was registered in his name, but was operated by his son Shubham Jaiswal. During interrogation, Bhola Jaiswal stated that the entire business was being operated from a warehouse in Jharkhand. The financial transactions were handled by a chartered accountant Vishnu Agarwal, who will be questioned separately by the Sonbhadra SIT team after taking him into the appropriate custody remand to verify the facts revealed by the accused.
