Faster tracks, smarter trains--RDSO showcases tech leap
Lucknow, Nov. 29 -- The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in association with Research Designs & Standards Organization (RDSO) organised a Conference on Innovative Technologies in Railways on Friday in which experts deliberated on the innovations, latest technologies, collaboration and ideation in the railway sector.
Addressing the gathering, Uday Borwanker, director general, Research Designs & Standards Organisation (RDSO), mentioned that RDSO is the sole organisation of the Indian Railways working on research and design in the area of railway technology since 1957.
RDSO frames specifications and vendor development for railway supply items and provides technical solutions to Indian Railways, pointed out Borwanker.
He added that the speed potential of the tracks has grown tremendously from 75 KMPH to 160 KMPH. On the Kavach system, Borwanker said this indigenously developed security and safety system will bring a paradigm shift in the rail mobility system....
