Farmer dies after being hit by goods train in Kaushambi
Prayagraj, Nov. 6 -- A 50-year-old farmer was killed after being hit by a goods train near Jalalpur Boriyon village under the Sandipan Ghat police station area on Wednesday morning. Police said the farmer, a resident of a nearby village, was walking to his fields around 10 am when he was struck by the train while crossing the railway track. He died on the spot.
Villagers rushed to the site after the accident, and the victim's family arrived. The Muratganj police outpost team reached the scene, carried out the necessary formalities, and sent the body for post-mortem examination.
The body of an unknown man, estimated to be around 50 years old, was found on the Delhi-Howrah railway line near Basariya village under the Karachhana police station area of Prayagraj early on Wednesday. Police reached the spot after being informed at around 2 am and examined the scene. No identity documents were found on the body, said SHO Anoop Saroj. The police have taken the body into custody, completed the legal formalities, and sent it for a post-mortem examination.
