LUCKNOW, Nov. 28 -- A longstanding domestic dispute over alcohol abuse and ancestral land escalated into murder here in Nigohan, Lucknow police said on Thursday. Two brothers and their maternal cousin were arrested for allegedly killing 34-year-old Amit Kumar Dhiman and dumping his body in a canal to make it appear as a suicide. ADCP South Vasanth Rallapalli said, Amit, addicted to alcohol, often returned home intoxicated and argued with his brothers, Bechalal and Prem. Tensions grew when he began pressuring them to sell their land after selling his own.
On 24 November, a heated argument turned fatal. The three accused allegedly struck Amit multiple times on the head with bricks, killing him. They then tied a black scarf around his neck, placed his body in a sack, and dumped it in the Bank Nala along the Gautamkheda-Sisendi road. The body was found the same afternoon and later identified. Following a complaint from Amit's mother, the police registered a case under sections 103(1)/238/351(3) of the BNS and arrested the accused on Wednesday.htc...
