Prayagraj, Dec. 13 -- A month after a minor high school student from a village in Soraon area of Prayagraj went missing, her family and members of a social organisation staged a protest at the police headquarters on Friday. The student's family had earlier filed a case accusing two young men from a nearby village of kidnapping her. Led by former Bahria block chief Kuldeep Pandey, the family and dozens of supporters marched from All Saints Cathedral in Civil Lines, carrying placards and raising slogans. They reached the Police Headquarters and sat in protest, accusing the police of failing to trace the girl despite repeated requests. Kuldeep Pandey said the student had left home for the market on November 9 and never returned. He claimed that the two young men went missing the same day. After several hours of protest, additional police commissioner Ajaypal Sharma met the group and assured them that the student would be recovered within three days.
