PRAYAGRAJ, Oct. 9 -- Five people, including a district panchayat member, have been booked for using a woman as a pawn in a land dispute case and registering a false gang rape case. After the truth was exposed during investigation, Saini police arrested four accused, including the district panchayat member. As per reports, a woman living in a village under Saini police station area in Kaushambi submitted a complaint to Superintendent of Police Rajesh Kumar on September 27. In it, she stated that on September 26, she had gone to the fields to graze goats. There, Zubair Ahmed, son of Moin Baksh and Pappu, son of Mustaq, residents of Sayara Meethapur under Saini police station, dragged her into their car. They then raped her one after another, the complaint added. Taking the complaint seriously, the superintendent of police got a case of gang rape registered on September 28. The investigation was assigned to sub-inspector Rajendra Kumar Yadav of Saini police station, besides DSP Satyendra Tiwari of Sirathu Circle was asked to monitor the proceedings of the investigations. Within 10 days of investigation, the police uncovered the truth. On Wednesday morning, the woman who filed the case; district panchayat member Sher Mohammad alias Sheru, who was involved in the conspiracy; and Mohammad Hasan, all residents of Sayara Meethapur, and Arjun, son of Badelal, resident of Rampal Ka Pura, Sayara Meethapur, were arrested. The SP said that the accused were sent to jail after completing the formalities of presenting them in court. SP Rajesh Kumar further stated that Zubair, the alleged gang rape accused, had a dispute with the conspirator, Mohammad Hasan, over land in village Sayara Mithpur.
