PRAYAGRAJ, Sept. 25 -- Police have seized a large quantity of counterfeit ghee and cash from three shops in the Babuganj market area of Kunda, where fake branded ghee was being sold using counterfeit packaging. A case has been registered under the Copyright Act following a complaint by the company's area manager. On Tuesday evening, a joint team comprising Kunda police station SHO Avan Kumar Dixit, the special operations group (SOG), and area manager raided multiple shops in the market and conducted inspections based on the complaint. Fake ghee packets-in 1 kg, 500 gram, 200 gram, and 100 gram sizes-were recovered from the shops of Dharmendra Kumar Kesarwani (Dev Store), Sonu Sahu (Bholanath Kirana Store), and Rohit Sahu (Ganga Construction and Ganga Traders), all residents of Babuganj. In total, police seized 23 packets of 1 kg fake ghee, 63 packets of 500 grams, 103 packets of 200 grams and 255 packets of 100 grams. All packets bore counterfeit branding and were sealed by authorities.
