Fake currency racket: Key accused held in Sitapur
LUCKNOW, June 29 -- The Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terror Squad (ATS) on Saturday arrested another key accused in a counterfeit currency racket from Sitapur, linked to a larger network operating out of Hapur district in western Uttar Pradesh.
The ATS seized Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN) with a face value of Rs 1.05 lakh, according to a press note issued on Saturday.ATS officials identified the arrested individual as Anas Ahmad, a resident of Gandhi Nagar under the jurisdiction of Siddhauli police station in Sitapur. The seized counterfeit notes were in denominations of Rs 500, Rs 200, and Rs 100.
This arrest follows the capture of the gang's mastermind, Gajendra Yadav, along with his associates Siddharth Jha and Vijay Veer Chaudhary, on Friday in Hapur.
A senior ATS official stated that Gajendra Yadav and Siddharth Jha were actively involved in producing fake Indian currency using special paper sourced online by Vijay Veer Chaudhary....
