LUCKNOW, Jan. 10 -- The minimum temperatures remained low in several districts of UP while day temperatures improved on Friday.
In Prayagraj, day temperature on Friday rose to 20.4 degrees Celsius, up by 9 degrees as compared to Thursday's 11.4 degrees C which was 10.5 degrees below normal. In Varanasi, it was 18.8 degrees C, compared to 11.6 degrees on Thursday.
Minimum temperatures dropped in Aligarh to 3.4 degrees, Meerut 4.3 degrees, Fursatganj 4.4 degrees, Bareilly and Barabanki 4.5 degrees Celsius, respectively.
The maximum and minimum temperatures in Lucknow were 18 and 6.2 degrees C, respectively. The forecast for Saturday is shallow fog/mist in the morning and clear sky later. The maximum and minimum temperature will be around 21 and 9 degrees C, respectively.
Due to fog, visibility was zero in several districts. Due to the influence of a western disturbance, a gradual improvement in cold conditions is expected, with a decrease in fog and an increase in temperature until January 11.
"Following dense to very dense fog in many parts of the state late last night, the combined effect of a western disturbance concentrated in the middle troposphere over northern Pakistan and adjoining Punjab, and an induced cyclonic circulation over Haryana, resulted in light rain with occasional drizzle in some parts of western Uttar Pradesh this morning," weatherman said....
