Lucknow, Aug. 4 -- Some car-borne men allegedly threatened a prominent realtor in Hazratganj here and demanded Rs 17 crore in extortion from him, police said on Sunday. Hazratganj station house officer (SHO) Vikram Singh said an FIR was registered under Sections 351(3), 352, and 308(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and an investigation is underway. The incident occurred around 4.30 pm on Friday outside the Creation Square building, located opposite National PG College. A formal complaint was lodged on Saturday. According to the complaint, the accused, identified as Majin Khan of Mahmood Nagar, arrived at the site with 3-4 aides in a car and summoned the building's security guard, Mohammed Saeed. When Saeed approached, Majin allegedly lowered the window and began abusing the building's owner, Niyaz Ahmad. He reportedly told Saeed to inform Niyaz that he must pay Rs 17 crore or face consequences, claiming that he could have Niyaz and his family killed if the money was not paid.
