Mumbai, Jan. 13 -- KL Rahul has done quite well filling in for first-choice opener Shikhar Dhawan. In fact, his fine form over the last couple of series has triggered a debate whether he is ready to take over the role full-time from the Delhi batsman. In this India batting line-up, however, being a left-hander has its advantage and Dhawan provides the balance.

Thus, if the India team management decides Rahul will be considered only as a specialist opener in the ODI series against Australia, the Karnataka batsman may have to warm the bench in the first game at the Wankhede Stadium on Tuesday.
