Expect rain from Thursday, downpour on Friday: Met
LUCKNOW, Jan. 21 -- Two successive spells of rain/thundershowers are expected in UP from January 22 to 24 with heavy rainfall expected on January 23 (Friday). It will be followed by another spell from January 26 (Monday) onwards.
The rain will be due to two Western Disturbances. Before that, expect a drop in temperature in the next 48 hours, the weatherman said.
"Following the passage of the Western Disturbances, the change in wind direction and clear skies led to a drop in minimum temperatures in the western and central parts of the state last (Tuesday) morning. This drop is expected to continue for the next 24 hours.
"In eastern Uttar Pradesh, although there will be a gradual decrease in temperature over the next 48 hours, temperatures are likely to remain around or above normal, and the reduced intensity of fog will provide relief from the cold," said Atul Kumar Singh, senior scientist at Lucknow Met office.
Due to the influence of two successive active Western Disturbances, rainfall is expected to begin in western UP late on January 22 (Thursday), becoming widespread across eastern UP on January 23 (Friday), and then decreasing on January 24 (Saturday) before the weather clears on January 25 (Sunday)....
