Lucknow, June 16 -- To boost farming and encourage fruit production in the state, the minister of state (independent charge) for excise and prohibition, Uttar Pradesh, Nitin Agarwal inaugurated Uttar Pradesh's first winery tour at Ambrosia Nature Living LLP in Malihabad area of state capital Lucknow on Sunday. On the occasion, the minister congratulated the company's founder Kunwar Madhavendra Dev Singh for setting up the winery and said that wine will be made from the fruits grown in the state here, which will encourage fruit production in the state. "This step will prove beneficial for farmers and local entrepreneurs along with promoting entrepreneurship. This will increase the income of farmers and create new employment opportunities," said Nitin Agarwal. On the occasion, a grand Mango Festival was also organised in which a large number of mango enthusiasts participated. People also enjoyed traditional activities like horse riding, camel riding, bullock cart riding, and pottery making at the festival. This event is being seen in a new direction for promoting regional tourism, agriculture and cultural heritage, highlighting the importance of Malihabad's world-famous mangoes. The Uttar Pradesh Excise Policy 2025-26 is not just aimed to provide a revenue of Rs 63,000 crore to the state but at the same time it also aims to empower the farmers involved in the farming of various fruits.
