JHANSI, Dec. 19 -- Amidst days of speculation about his surrender, two-time former Samajwadi Party MLA from Garotha in Jhansi district, Deepnarayan Singh Yadav, who was recently booked under serious charges of dacoity and extortion last month, surrendered on Thursday before Special MP-MLA Court Judge Jitendra Yadav, evading police arrest. Yadav, reportedly arriving on a motorcycle wearing a helmet, first went to his advocate's chamber unnoticed and later entered the courtroom where he surrendered. After the hearing, he was sent to judicial remand. ADGC (criminal) Rajendra Rawat said the next hearing in the case is scheduled for December 24.
