VARANASI, May 25 -- Former head of the department (HoD) of anaesthesia, BHU, Dr A Lal passed away following prolonged illness, at Sir Sunder Lal Hospital on Friday morning. He was 88. The last rites were performed at Harish Chandra Ghat, and his nephew Shyam Bihari Srivastava lit the funeral pyre. Dr Lal completed MBBS from Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Memorial Medical College, Kanpur, in 1962. After working for a year in Lucknow's Balrampur Hospital, he did post-graduation in anaesthesia as a resident from the College of Medical Sciences (now Institute of Medical Sciences), BHU.
