LUCKNOW, May 23 -- To mark world biodiversity day on Thursday, a series of activities including a photography exhibition, clay modelling workshop, and a quiz competition were held at Lucknow University. The event was organised by the state museum in collaboration with EIACT-PCRP and the institute of wildlife sciences, Lucknow University. The programme aimed to raise awareness among students about the importance of biodiversity and wildlife conservation. Programme in-charge Al-Shaz Fatmi and assistant director Dhananjay Rai shared insights into the significance of biodiversity and highlighted the variety of wildlife depicted in the miniature artworks displayed at the exhibition. As part of the event, school students took part in a quiz and a clay modelling session focused on themes of wildlife and environmental conservation. These interactive activities were designed to educate and engage young minds on the subject of biodiversity. Professor Amita Kanaujia, coordinator of the institute of wildlife sciences, also addressed the participants, offering detailed information on biodiversity and the need to protect wildlife and the environment. Participants included students from Bal Nikunj Inter College, Study Hall School, Mukti Foundation, Amicus Academy, Maa Gandhi Inter College, CPAI Centre, Chaupatia, and Lucknow University.
