Agra, May 11 -- After the arrest of a panel doctor in Mathura, Etah police have arrested two government doctors for allegedly extorting money from successful candidates of the recently declared Uttar Pradesh Police Constable Recruitment Examination 2023 results, in the name of medical examination. Like in Mathura, the Etah doctors also allegedly threatened to disqualify candidates during their medical check-ups unless they paid bribes. In Mathura, the doctor's wife and two of his associates were also arrested. Mathura doctor was a medical officer at the district hospital. According to a press statement issued by the Etah police media cell, police at Kotwali Etah arrested the two doctors for allegedly threatening candidates and their parents with disqualification from the medical exam if money was not paid. The in-charge of Kotwali police station received certain videos and photos via WhatsApp showing the involvement of Dr Anubhav Agarwal in the malpractice. The visuals showed him conducting medical examinations at a private location and collecting money from candidates. The investigation revealed the location to be Kalawati CT Scan Center at Sumitra Diagnostic Center in Etah. Luvkush, a staff member at the centre, told police that those being examined were candidates who had qualified in the recruitment exam and were undergoing medical checks. "These candidates were threatened with disqualification and were thus forced to approach Dr Anubhav Agarwal through some middlemen. A video dated May 3 showed Dr Agarwal collecting money, with co-accused Dr Rahul Varshney also present. Several others were seen in the footage," the statement added. Police concluded that both Dr Anubhav Agarwal and Dr Rahul Varshney were involved in systematically extorting money from candidates by threatening them with medical disqualification. Dr Anubhav Agarwal, a resident of Agra, was posted at the Community Health Center in Jaintara, Etah, and was part of the medical board. Dr Rahul Varshney, a resident of Etah, was posted at the Medical College in Etah. Both were arrested by Kotwali Etah police on Friday evening....
