Lucknow, Sept. 11 -- Industrial Development Minister of Uttar Pradesh Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi held a meeting on Wednesday with departmental officials at his camp office at 6 Kalidas Marg and reviewed the progress of schemes and works being run under various sections of the Industrial Development Department. The minister instructed the officials to facilitate setting up anchor units by paying a token amount along the Purvanchal and Bundelkhand Expressway. Nandi said that while this will lead to development by setting up industries along the expressway, people will also get employment. The minister also directed to complete the process of distribution of tablets etc. under Swami Vivekananda Empowerment Scheme, an important scheme of the state government to empower the youth technically, by setting a time limit for distribution. Nandi directed the officials to establish industries in the areas along the expressway to connect the areas adjacent to Purvanchal and Bundelkhand Expressway with the main stream of development. He said that in those areas of the state where industrial development is slow, efforts should be made to establish industrial units by giving token money to companies and giving land at reasonable prices to speed up the industries.
