Agra, Nov. 29 -- A 48-year-old software engineer was found dead under suspicious circumstances at his home near Rajeshwar Temple in the Sadar police station area on Friday. A rifle belonging to his retired Army officer father was found lying next to the body. "A rifle was found near the deceased. The family has not filed any complaint. No clear reason can be established at this stage, although family members suggest he was cleaning the licensed weapon belonging to his father," said deputy commissioner of police Syed Ali Abbas. The house is owned by Satyadev Sharma, founder of the Brahman Mahasabha and a retired Subedar from the Indian Army. His son, Gyanesh, 48, employed as a software engineer with a multinational company, had been working from home. At the time of the incident, Sharma and his wife were away attending a condolence visit, while Gyanesh's two sons were at school. According to the family, Gyanesh's wife, who was working on the ground floor, heard a gunshot and rushed upstairs. She was shocked to find her husband lying in a pool of blood with the rifle beside him. Family members have claimed that the weapon discharged accidentally while Gyanesh was cleaning it. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination....
