LUCKNOW, May 8 -- The Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) carried out an anti-encroachment drive in Alambagh on Wednesday, clearing dozens of unauthorised stalls and carts that were obstructing traffic and pedestrian movement. Led by Zone-5 Zonal Officer Nand Kishore, the operation targeted the stretch from Alambagh Police Outpost to Old Jail Road, the LMC said in a press release. The LMC team dismantled 10 carts, four counters, and three wooden stalls that were found occupying public spaces, according to an official statement. "This is public land and not meant for private use," said zonal officer Nand Kishore. "Vendors have been warned against setting up encroachments again. If they repeat, legal action will be taken."
