VARANASI, Aug. 11 -- Encroachment was removed from the Reserve Police Lines intersection to Kutchehary intersection on Sunday as part of a road widening project in the city. Bulldozers were deployed to demolish illegal structures along the stretch. To ensure smoother traffic flow, the Public Works Department (PWD) has initiated the process of clearing encroachments from Police Line Square to Kachheri Square, as part of the broader road widening plan between Kachheri and Sandaha. Prior to demolition, the department conducted a drone survey of the area. House owners affected by the project have been informed in advance, and compensation is being provided to them.
