LUCKNOW, June 19 -- Eight major trains passing through the Lucknow division between June 18 and July 11 have been cancelled as Northern Railway (NR) undertakes scheduled track and infrastructure maintenance. Railway authorities said the repair work is critical to ensuring safety and preventing technical failures or accidents. However, frequent cancellations have left passengers from Lucknow and nearby regions struggling to plan their travel. "Track and structural maintenance is essential to maintain safe and efficient rail operations. We regret the inconvenience caused but this is necessary for long-term safety," a Northern Railway official said. Several daily and long-distance passengers are expected to be impacted, especially those heading to or arriving from Chandigarh, Bathinda, Varanasi, Ayodhya, and Rajgir. Authorities have advised travellers to check the latest train status before planning their journey. Further updates will be issued by Northern Railway as the repair work progresses....
