Lucknow, June 18 -- With an aim to provide direct access of the premium markets of the country to the mango producing farmers, the district administration held a meeting with the hotel and restaurant association and agricultural producer organisations here on Tuesday. The objective of the meeting was to create a direct link between farmers and premium markets, thereby increasing the income of farmers and promoting sustainable agriculture practices. Held in the presence of divisional commissioner Roshan Jacob, more than 25 agricultural producer organisations and 50 hotel owners participated in the meeting. While chairing the meeting, Jacob directed to create a common platform for hotel owners and agricultural producer organisations and register their related demand and availability daily. Chief horticulture expert KM Chaudhary gave detailed information about all the varieties produced in Lucknow. Participating in the programme, chief development officer Ajay Jain said that alongside mango, organic products should also be added to this common platform. Participating in the programme, Hotel Association president Ankit Jaiswal assured full cooperation in providing a premium market to agricultural producers.
