Edu, employment push for minorities: Danish Ansari
LUCKNOW, Feb. 12 -- The Uttar Pradesh government has proposed Rs 2,058 crore for minority welfare schemes aimed at education, social and economic empowerment.
Danish Azad Ansari, minister of state for minority welfare, said the government is committed to the upliftment, education and employment-oriented development of the minority community. "Through these schemes, the light of development will reach the lowest rung of society," he said.
The Multi-Sectoral Development Programme under the Prime Minister's Jan Vikas Programme will be implemented in 21 districts with high minority populations. The scheme has been allocated Rs 500 crore for infrastructure, education, health and other development projects.
The Pre-Matric and Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme for minority students has been allocated Rs 391 crore to support students....
