LUCKNOW, July 2 -- A late-night dispute at a restaurant in Gomtinagar Vistar area turned into a suspected case of arson after the eatery was allegedly set on fire just hours after an altercation between staff and a group of customers. According to the FIR lodged by Abhi Yadav, owner of the bamboo-structured eatery in Sector 4, a group of men arrived in a car around 1:00 am on Sunday and ordered food. A disagreement reportedly broke out when the customers, believed to be under the influence of alcohol, refused to pay the bill. The restaurant was shut for the night following the incident. At approximately 4:30 am, one of the employees sleeping inside reportedly felt a flammable liquid, suspected to be diesel, being poured over him. Within moments, flames engulfed the entire structure. Staff managed to escape unhurt and claimed to have seen four men fleeing the spot on two scooters toward Health City Vistar. No arrests have been made so far....
