EAM raises W Asia crisis, UN reforms at G7 ministers' meet
Toronto, March 28 -- The West Asia crisis and its consequences figured prominently during a conversation between External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and his Canadian counterpart Anita Anand on the margins of a G7 meeting in France.
This was their first meeting since Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney's bilateral visit to India in late February-early March.
After her meeting with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar at the French resort of Vaux-de-Cernay, Anand, in a post on X said, they followed up "on the partnership our Prime Ministers advanced during our visit to India earlier this year."
In a post on X, Jaishankar said they met "to advance our bilateral agenda" and also discussed developments in West Asia.
Besides Anand, Jaishankar also met his counterparts from Italy, Antonio Tajani; EU, Kaja Kallas; and Ukraine, Andrii Sybiha .
Speaking at the meeting, the EAM conveyed uncertainties arising from the conflict in West Asia and highlighted the urgency of UNSC reforms.
